MEET THE PACK

ISABELLA AND JADE - FOUNDERS

Hello, beautiful people! We’re Isabella and Jade. We met while working with dogs for the same company, and that’s where our journey began. We’ve both always had a deep love for animals, and we were lucky enough to meet in an environment where we were constantly surrounded by dogs. It was during that time that we fell deeply in love not only with each other, but with watching one another care for, connect with, and work alongside the dogs in our lives. After almost 2 years, we both left the company we were working for and found ourselves wanting to start anew. At the time, we had three dogs of our own and our only option was to move into a small studio apartment. It was a huge adjustment for all of us, and it made us realize just how important it was to intentionally fulfill our dogs and involve them in our everyday lives.

Using the experience we had gained, we began Pack walking on the side. At first, it was simply a small Pack of three or four dogs, including our own, As we walked through neighborhoods and local trails, people began to notice us. Slowly, we started receiving inquiries from people asking if their dogs could join the Pack too. What began as something we were doing for our own dogs naturally grew into a community, and before we knew it, Pack walking had become our full-time job.

We’ve now both been Pack walking for five years, spending countless hours moving alongside dogs, getting to know them as individuals, and learning from every dog that has come into our lives.

Over the years, we’ve continued to listen, read, observe, and learn from different philosophies and perspectives. Our approach to working with dogs is balanced and relationship-based, with a focus on meeting a dog’s natural and biological needs through movement, consistency, and clear communication. A simple slip lead remains our primary tool.

At the heart of everything we do is the relationship.

We are incredibly grateful for every person and dog we’ve had the privilege of getting to know and for the community that has grown around PackVida. We take pride in being a small business and keeping what we do personal. Every dog we Pack walk, handle, and spend countless hours with becomes a part of our story and holds a special place in our hearts. We hope you’ll join us as we continue moving through life alongside dogs.

IRIS

Rescued from the Lancaster Shelter in 2020, Iris is an American Pitbull. She is our oldest with 12 loving years. After accepting Iris into her life, Jade realized there was much to unlearn about “aggressive” dogs. Iris has different needs than the rest of our Pack. She didn’t seem to have a PackVida in her future but after learning Iris’s needs and boundaries, she now lives with three other dogs and Pack walks with dogs of various sizes and temperaments. She has had an incredible journey. Most would not recognize her from her earlier years.

‍ HENNESSY

Her nickname is Henny, she was found urgently needing a home on Craigslist at only 6 months old. She came  with a lot of health issues, but got through them all! She has always been fond of dogs, always presenting a strong nurturing energy. She is a German Shepard chow mix. This mix of breeds comes with a lot of stubbornness and boss girl energy. We’ve taken a lot of time with her to work with her instincts and continue to do so. Hennessy is great at helping us on our assessments/private sessions and with puppies! You'll often see her joining in on our Pack walks.

OBI WAN

Obi Wan; the only boy in our Pack, he is a Australian Cattle Dog also known as a Red Heeler. Obi Wan is loyal and driven by his breed. Cattle dogs are bred to herd and nip at the hocks of cattle to get them to move across land, so you can imagine how much work we have this guy do on the day to day. Obi is a working breed and has a distinct will to please and to attain a given objective, so we give that to him. He is a loving and silly spirit, always ready to explore with the Pack. You’ll see that Obi joins in on our Pack walks everyday. He is a joy to work with.

Bisou is our youngest Pack member and already such a special part of our family. She is a fearless little girl with a big personality packed into just 4.5 pounds. Our dogs have beautifully welcomed her into the Pack, and she has seamlessly stepped into her role alongside them. Bisou is outgoing and genuinely enjoys being around both humans and other dogs. It’s been especially sweet for us, as she is our very first small dog — all of our dogs have always been at least over 20 pounds — so she brings a whole new dynamic to our Pack. She may be tiny, but Bisou’s presence is anything but small.
